Happy Friday, dear students!

I hope you are all doing well and are getting excited about the weekend!
I want to share a short video (under 5 minutes, I promise) that shows the interesting reason that spelling in English can be so complicated.

English, with a long history and a mixed background, has been changed, translated, shortened, and altered in other ways across centuries.  The effects of these alterations are evident in the difficulty of spelling that we all face today.  Look at this short explanation of why spelling in English can be so tricky!

It won't solve all of your spelling problems, but it does give an interesting insight into why the spelling and pronunciation of English words can be so unexpected!
